Those who are 5 to 7 years old are part of a noncompetitive version of 4H, providing them an opportunity to participate in small animal projects, as well as other activities such as arts and crafts and environmental science.

The following year, Lee County Commissioners allocated $250 for staff to implement the inaugural Lee County Fair. That was held at Terry Park in February 1919. Five years later, the name was changed to the present Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair, so it could be considered a district event, not just a county one.
