I have every confidence a year+ is likely. I change all my RDS batteries first week of new year (unless I get the RDS later in the year). First thing I would do is remount the thing, which WILL require a re-zero with the suspicion that it wasn't fully secured, and that opening the battery door caused the optic to move.
