After owning many 1st and 3rd gen SAA's, I finally bought a 2nd gen and wanted to share some thoughts on it. Its a early 1956 7 1/2" 45 that is in nice condition. Some holster wear and a faint turn line but the original owner said that it had only been shot 6 times. Judging from the bore, Id say he is probably correct about that.The Eagle emblem on 2nd & 3rd gen grips almost touches the screw boss, there is more space between the Eagle emblem and the boss on the 1st gen grips. The sure fire method is the backs; The corners are rounded on 1st gen, and sharp on 2nd & 3rd, also 3rd have the Colt address at the bottom and the others don't. Here are examples of the three.
